I am a Pro-Life

Today, I proclaim to the world that I am Pro-Life.

When I say Pro-Life, I mean I support life not death. So, I am anti-RH Bill.

The RH Bill that Lagman has filed promotes death. Contraceptives kill unborn children and they are promoted by the RH Bill.

Apostolic Fathers Believed that Christ is God

Sustines Laplana the known Filipino blogger said in his blog that the Apostolic Fathers did not believed that Christ is God.

Apostolic Fathers are those early priests in the Catholic Church after the existence of the Apostles.

I really disagree on it. If the Apostles attested that Christ is God, then the Apostolic Fathers who followed the existence of the Apostles believed in that truth too. Remember that the Apostolic Fathers received the teachings personally taught by the Apostles to the church. The Apostolic Fathers are the successors of the Apostles. So, it is also obvious that they believed on what the Apostles believed.

Now since the Apostles taught that Christ is God, then it is also true that the Apostolic Fathers taught that Christ is God. And that is the reason why until now, people believe that Christ is God. This teaching is handed down from generations to generations starting from Christ down to his Apostles and to the Apostolic Fathers and to the Fathers of these days.

If you'll read the Bible, you find many verses that will tell you that Christ is God. I already mention the John 1:1. It is one of the clear proof that Christ is God eversince. He was the Word. And since He was the Word then He was God because the Word is part of God. That's the reason why it is said that He was with God because the Word of God really is always with God.

Don't close your mind if you're reading the Bible. Open your mind and you'll see the truth. And the truth will made your free.

Christ is the Word who was God

Another proof that Christ is really God is the verses in John 1:1-14. It was stated here that Christ was with God even from the beginning of the world. All things in earth was even made through him. And it was made clear from the verses that He was God.

Now, how am sure that it was Christ was was God with God? In the verse 14, it was stated that the word was made flesh. And we already know who was this word who became flesh. It was Christ, right?

Even if he was God, he tried to be like human.

I am not saying that Christ is the Father. No. Christ is not the Father but he is the Son. That's why in John 1:18, it is really mentioned about him being the God the Son.

Christ and the Father should Be Recognized by Men

Sustines replied in his blogpost, "Christ is not God." He said that in John 17:1,3 Christ said that it's the Father alone who is the true God.

Actually, he is just misinformed and he misinterprets what has been written in the John 17:1,3. It is true that there is only one God the Father. But it doesn't mean that it couldn't have a God the Son.

In John 17:1,3 Christ said that men should know His Father as God and it is true that He is the true God the Father. But in his prayer, Christ also said, "and Jesus Christ whom you have sent". So it's clear that men should know or recognize the Father and the Son.

Why should we recognize the Son? This is what we can read in I John 5:20:

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

This time, John the apostle clearly states that Christ is the true God and the eternal life.

So, back from John 17:1,3, just because Christ said that there is only God the Father that you will immediately conclude that there will be no God the Son. Here in I John 5:20, it is already clearly stated that Christ is true God.

Christ is God

One of the belief of Engr Sustines Laplana, since he is already member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, is that Christ is not God.

Now, why do I believe that Catholic's teaching that Christ is God is true?

In John 10:30, Christ said, "I and my Father are one."

In this pronouncement, Christ clearly admitted that He is one with the Father.

In what way they became one? We'll we all know about that already... Christ and the Father are persons of God. That's is the reason why Christ said He and His Father are one. Christ is not the Father and the Father is not Christ but they are one as God.

My Second Blog

For your information, this is my second blog. My first blog bears my name, Joseph Pementera. 

I created this new blog just to try to segregate my thoughts on religion. I think, I can write more about religion because my interest is more inclined to religion talks. 

On this blog, I will post about everything I know about my religion. I will also convince Engr Sustines Laplana to create a blog on religion too. He is the one who convince to blog, besides he is my friend and that he also is currently a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo according to his new blogpost which titled "Holy Week and Me".

If he will agree to me, then I think, my blog and his will be in a little discussion about religion especially that his religion really opposes my religion which is Roman Catholic Church.

However, it will be healthy discussion which will not ruin our relationship as a friend. Actually we are always in a discussion here everytime we meet. He's a good person to talk especially about religion. His voice might be a little loud, hehehe parang bugle, but his smile is always there.

So, I will start  the discussion on my next post. I already have texted him and he said he will create his own blog. 

So the set-up will be like this: I will post my article in this post, then he will answer it in his post.

This is will be good. Hope you can follow our discussion.
